So I was surprised and disappointed that they have one of the most ecologically Unfriendly coffee machines on the planet in every room- the Keurig with disposable pods. They use compostable bags and claim to use grey water. One of the appeals of Rush Creek is their commitment to using eco-friendly practices. It definitely would have been nice if there was another bathroom or 1/2 bath but that's probably asking for too much. It was a little smaller than I expected but worked out for the 3 adults and 3 kids staying. But we weren't going to back out of the reservation so headed up for Labor Day weekend- I'm so glad we did! Everything has that nice, new feeling and the villa we stayed in (1D) was great for the 6 of us who were staying there. I was a bit nervous about staying at Rush Creek due to all the poor reviews I had been reading. Only a few niggles but would definitely recommend. Was only a mile from Yosemite park so expensive but too be expected. Some lovely ideas like the live band in the evening and smores added to the whole atmosphere. Pool only opens at 10am so you can't swim pre breakfast which is a shame. One thing I would say is that they serve UHT milk with coffee and tea which is horrible! Not sure if that's an America thing. Apparently there had been a buffet during the week but this has changed at the weekend. Breakfast in the restaurant was menu choices rather than buffet. There's a general store that sells everything you could need for a hiking picnic. Great size, nice bathroom and lovely view. Our room overlooked the pool and was lovely. Some construction work was being completed mainly the car park entrance way but nothing that interfered with our stay. The hotel is brand new having recently opened. I stayed at Rush creek with my husband and nine month old son for two nights in September.
